Get farmer input on the integrated crop-livestock system (ICLS). The benefits and barriers of adding manure and other livestock production elements to crop production operations and the experience of integrating cover crops into ICLS. This field day will feature a farm tour and a conversation about strategies and approaches to ICLS by a farmer as well as soil health study results shared by a researcher.

IASCD's mission is to represent Idaho’s conservation districts as the primary entities to coordinate voluntary, locally led efforts to sustain and enhance Idaho’s natural resources, and strengthen Idaho’s conservation districts and thereby the non-regulatory approach to conservation. We believe in strong, independently lead conservation districts fully exercising their role to lead non-regulatory conservation efforts throughout the State of Idaho.

Soil Health Lunch ‘n Learn

Soils are a key driver to rangeland diversity, and also crucial for healthy rangelands. But how do management decisions connect with soil health? We’ll examine the science of soil health on Idaho’s rangelands, and the management practices and policies that come into play. This year’s forum will be a combination of interactive sessions and a field tour that highlights soil health out on the range.

The Idaho Strategic Soil Health Summit was held on February 12, 2024 in Twin Falls, Idaho. Hosted by the Regenerative Agriculture Network of Idaho (RANI), the Summit brought together stakeholders across agriculture, academia, industry, government, and nonprofits to discuss soil health throughout the state.
The meeting uncovered key findings that provide clear direction for improving soil health practices in Idaho and offer a roadmap to implementing statewide soil health goals and strategies.
