This farmer-focused tour will include discussion on practical strategies for improving soil conditions in dryland rotations, integrating cattle with cover crops, and using biostimulants to reduce synthetic inputs while supporting soil and plant health. The tour will begin at a site five miles west of St. John, WA and will visit three additional sites with a total driving time of about 51 minutes (25 total miles). Participants will travel to a second site about 3 miles away, a third site 5 miles away between Rock Lake & Pine City, WA, then travel to a fourth site about 8 miles away near Pine City, WA, and conclude back at the third site for lunch.

The quarterly Idaho Soil Health Network meeting brings together individuals and organizations who are working to improve the environmental, economic, and social outcomes of farming and ranching through soil health in the state of Idaho.

Join us for a special day on the farm with Joel Salatin, one of the most recognized voices in regenerative agriculture, pasture-based livestock, and local food systems. This daytime event is designed for those who want a closer, more practical look at the principles behind healthy soil, healthy animals, and food raised with intention. Joel will join us at McIntyre Pastures for a guided pasture walk/tour and conversation centered around farming practices, stewardship, and the role local farms play in building a stronger food future. Whether you are a farmer, homesteader, gardener, food buyer, or simply someone who wants to better understand where your food comes from, this will be a rare opportunity to learn directly from one of the most influential thinkers in the local food movement. Lunch is included with this ticket.

If you're looking for practical ways to increase pasture productivity, improve profitability, and build healthier land, this workshop is for you. Join the team from Understanding Ag, LLC for a two-day, hands-on Adaptive Grazing Workshop designed to help ranchers, farmers, and land managers implement real solutions that work in the field. You'll learn directly from world-renowned regenerative agriculture educators Burke Teichert, Gabe Brown, and Fernando Falomir as they share practical strategies that have helped producers across North America improve both their land and their bottom line.

Explore the farm and learn about irrigation practices and strategies with Blake Matthews. Blake will be joined by Jared Cook from Rocky Mountain Agronomics, and Emily Bedwell from the University of Idaho.

Join fellow farmers and agricultural professionals for a free, hands-on field day exploring the latest tools and research on using conservation practices to build soil health, strengthen pest control, improve water quality, and build climate resilience across western farms. Gooding Farms enhances soil health with cover crops and livestock grazing in hop rows. The field day is the fourth and final event in the Soil Health & Habitat field series, each held in a different state and tailored to the farming practices and challenges of that region.

What does the term soil health actually mean in practical terms? Join us to explore the foundations of healthy soils, why they matter, and how management decisions can impact the long-term productivity and resilience of your land. The workshop will be followed by a field day on Tuesday, June 23rd, where attendees can see soil health principles applied on working land. You’ll see demonstrations of tools and methods used to evaluate soil health, including infiltration, aggregation, compaction, and biological activity.

The Idaho Strategic Soil Health Summit was held on February 12, 2024 in Twin Falls, Idaho. Hosted by the Regenerative Agriculture Network of Idaho (RANI), the Summit brought together stakeholders across agriculture, academia, industry, government, and nonprofits to discuss soil health throughout the state.

The meeting uncovered key findings that provide clear direction for improving soil health practices in Idaho and offer a roadmap to implementing statewide soil health goals and strategies.
